GIVE HOPE, SHARE HOPE
We need to start talking about the things that matter. This cause is something that has been close to my heart for awhile now, but unfortunately is affecting far too many lives in today's world. As days go by we are seeing more and more people die from this disease of addiction, much too young. The truth is addiction affects everyone, it does not discriminate. We are seeing the heartbreak of this epidemic in countless celebrities in Hollywood, our small hometowns, and all the major cities around us. Each time we hear a new story of one of these tragedies, our heart breaks a little more and more each time, but most of us don't know what we could have done to prevent this or how we can help take action now. Now is your chance to help us start to overcome this.
4 years ago my cousin Tyler died of a heroin overdose. 2 years after, my family started Hope United, a non-profit organization that focuses on educating people about the disease of addiction, supporting those struggling through hope and healing, and building a foundation for long-lasting recovery. I am so proud of them for turning this tragedy into the chance to help others who are dealing with the same in order to fight back against this epidemic. We are working on raising the funds to start building Ohio's first relapse prevention center in memory of Tyler.
Whether you know someone personally who is struggling with addiction or have just seen the lives of the people around you become affected by it, I encourage you to start taking action in hopes that it could save someone's life. Let's fight to end the drug addiction, alcohol and suicide epidemics together, once and for all, by bringing the missing piece of recovery to our community: relapse prevention. The future Tyler's Redemption Place will provide relapse prevention programs, family support, counseling, fitness & wellness programs, and more to treat the whole person: mind, body and spirit.
